Välkommen
Food and shelter was available as soon as 1737. Back then a meal cost 12 öre, a jug of beer was 8 öre and one could stay the night for 4 öre.

Now almost 300 years later the warm, friendly skånska innkeeper tradition lives on at Åhus Gästgifvaregård. The unique heritage in a special historical environment is preserved and combined with a seldom seen instinct for personal service and warm consideration for the guests.

Here in idyllic Åhus, by the Baltic Sea, where the extraordinarily beautiful landscape of Österlen begins, you will find peace and calmness. Here at Gästgifvaregården, which is situated in the old part of Åhus dating back to the 12th century, you find calmness in the historical atmosphere and the delightful pleasure of the food, where the menu is set both by season and availability of the local products.

The spring’s lamb and delicate vegetables, the summer’s fish, the fall’s game, the eel, which is presented with a modern touch, and of course the traditional goose. The kitchen is one of the best in southern Sweden, which several honours from gourmets bear witness to. “I cannot but be happy at Åhus Gästgifvaregård,” says food and travelling writer Stefan Johansson, who has written about Gästis in among others Aftonbladet and Euroworld.
